About Us

The company Ohrwurm Showtechnik was formed 1985 from me and my friend Ingo Wrieden. It started like 70 percent of all sound and light companies anywhere. I had a gig with my old schoolband on a small newcomer festival. I was the guy in the band who had been asked to install the soundsystem on this festival cause I was a radio and TV technician at that time. At that time I only played with speaker systems and tube amps instead of playing with girls like my other friends... Anyway, we had a lot of fun with our selfmade "sound system" on this festival and we started to spend all of our small money for this business. It tooks some years until our material was ok and until we learned how to use our ears...

After my electronic engineering study in Bremen my friend decided to discontinue this business and I seattled to Rhade with my company. Besides of the warehouse here I build an electronic workshop and developed some speaker systems and different (more or less) useful circuits and "problemsolvers". Since this time we almost use our own speaker systems "Audio Design" for the rental part of our company. These systems are already well known in our area and are also very accepted from many professional bands here. In our workshop we developed the Optogate products and we manufacture these units here. We already sold far more than 1000 units worldwide and we have about 30% business growing every year with these products. In the meanwhile we bought a solder wave machine and some other useful tools in order to increase the product quality of the Optogate products.
